The heavily crime infested Johannesburg Central business District recorded yet another robbery incident on the 15th of August 2020.
An alarm was raised of a business robbery in progress at the corner of Pritchard and Eloff streets.
Members of the South African Police Services and the tactical response team responded swiftly to the call.
Upon their arrival they saw two suspects who were being alleged to have entered an Ackermans store and pointed an employee with a firearm. They further demanded cash and valuables from the employee.
The duo aged 30 and 37 ere arrested by the members and are due to appear in court soon. The firearm was loaded with ammunition and the members seized it. It will be taken for ballistic testing to check if it was used to commit other crimes.
The high numbers of weapons in the streets have made it easier for criminals to commit crime across the country.
