Cash In Transit Robbery In Johannesburg CBD

Another cash in transit robbery has just taken place on a Wednesday afternoon in Johannesburg central.

It has been reported that a cross pavement cash in transit robbery took place at Pritchard and Ellof Streets in the Central business district.

The incident took place at 13:00 hrs on the 10th of June and people were shocked at the bravery of the robbers who started firing at the police officers who wanted to chase them.

It is alleged that the cash van was about to offload cash and a gang of armed men pounced on the cash delivery staff.

They violently assaulted them and took away the weapons of the escort team.

The police was alerted of the robbery that was taking place and came to try to intercept the robbers as they were about to escape.

This led to the gang of robbers to open fire towards the police causing masses who were in the Joburg CBD to start to scream and flee.

The robbers escaped the scene showering the police with bullets.

This becomes the umpteenth cash in transit robbery the nation has suffered since the migration to the level 3 of the national lockdown.
