The body of an 18-year-old boy was finally found in the River: Read his sad story below.

He was last seen on security video on January 17 leaving the Target store at Merle Hay Mall in Des Moines where he and his sister had worked for about two years.

The body of a 18-year-old who vanished in January after leaving a Target store was found in Des Moines River, Police said.

Abdullahi Sharif, (the Boy) was off school because of bad weather that day and told his family he was called in for a shift at Target, so his mother drove him to the mall around noon. His sister discovered that Abdullahi was not on the schedule that day; however, said nothing because she knew how much he loved working there.

After work, Abdullahi sent his mother a text to come pick him up, and when she showed up, he was not there. The mother tried calling his phone which was on voicemail. He was reported missing the following day.

"Abdullahi loved working there and would sometimes just hang out, also visit the nearest Mall and spend hours there" said his sister, weeks after her brother disappeared.

The Des Moines Police Department said in a statement, "a Kayaker called Saturday afternoon to report spotting a body in the river in Prospect Park, about 4 miles from the Target.

The body was soon recovered by the Des Moines Fire Department's water rescue, which identified as Abdullahi Sharif's. There were no traumatic injuries observed during the autopsy and the cause of death is still under investigation, Police said.
