The South African Police Services (SAPS) in Gauteng Province rescued a man who was on the verge of being murdered in Johannesburg Central. Three suspects have been arrested after they were caught red-handed on the scene they were about to commit the crime.
SAPS received a call and acted on a tip-off of a gang of men who had kidnapped a 28 year old gentleman with the intention to kill him. The incident happened in the Johannesburg CBD yesterday at corners of Hanover and Main Reef Road.
The victim was rescued and a firearm with ammunition was confiscated. The suspects are currently in police custody and are being investigated. They are due to appear in the magistrates court soon in connection with the crime.
Members of the public have applauded the efforts done by the police department as another abduction had just taken place.
Since the lockdown restrictions started being relaxed, abductions have been on the rise across the country.
