As PSL is set to resume, three referees test positive for Covid-19.
It a celebration to the PSL fans. The Press Conference held in Johannesburg, Monday afternoon, Chairman Dr Irvin Khoza confirmed the Premier soccer league season resume on 08/ 08/2020, with the Nedbank cup semi-finals, followed by the Absa premiership three days later 11/08/2020. The association looks in to completing the 2019/20 season by 05/09/2020, "it is all system go" said Dr Irvin Khoza.
The first teams to enter the 'bio- bubble' are set to be Mamelodi sundowns, Bloemfontein Celtic, Baroka FC and Bidvest Wits. All teams to be first tested for Covid-19 48hours before placed in the 'bio- bubble' situated in Gauteng, " if your results are not negative you are out". Brazilians VS Clever Boys, Celtic VS Baroka on the Nedbank Cup Semi-finals on Saturday 08 August. All other Teams to be tested and expected to be on the bubble on Tuesdays 11 August as the Absa Premiership kick off.
"As the Board of Governors we have a compliance officer who tells that all the clubs have complied except for one that is trying to comply. If you don't comply before you go in to the bubble, you are out," said Irvin Khoza
"The condition was that if you go out you don't come back. They are going to stay in the bubble, Which means you go to training or a match and come back to the bubble."
The SAFA Compliance officer Dr Thulani Ngwenya said " Only three referees test positive for Covid-19 but are all asymptomatic,"
" we are monitoring in the daily basis, and they are quarantining on the other wing of the hotel". He further on mentioned that everyone else on the camp were looking in good shape.
