I have to admit, the government has created an awesome initiative to give young people access to learning and earning opportunities. Ever since Sa Youth was launched last year, it has provided thousands of South African the opportunity to find employment and gain experience that is going to improve their chances of finding employment. In this article, our purpose is to introduce you to this platform and show you how you can use it to find work.
Optimizing your profile
The first thing that you need to do is to create an account (if you already have one you should skip this step). After that, it's important that you update your profile with all the information that is needed during the recruitment process and this includes:
— A well formatted curriculum vitae. Just navigate to your profile and fill in the required information.
— It's so much easier to edit your profile because it's in a question and answer format.
— Make sure that you turn on your location for the website to tailor make vacancies based on where you are staying.
On a timely basis, the website will be updated with the latest job openings in the area that you have chosen. The best thing is that the website is zero rated which means you can access it even if you don't have data bundles.
— Navigate to the "opportunities" section on the menu. As aforementioned, your location must be turned on to ensure that you are getting a list of vacancies in your area.
— Read the job description and understand it properly. It will give you a picture of what kind of a person they are looking for and how your CV should be formatted.
— If you have any qualifications, make sure that you include that information in your profile.
