Renowned international Journalist - Hopewell Chin'ono has reported on the new scheduled salaries for domestic workers in Zimbabwe.
Domestic workers are scheduled to be earning anything from a mere Z$ 10 000, which equates to $22 per month, this is not enough to afford basic necessities as inflation is currently soaring high in Zimbabwe.
The $22 equates to R346.89 per month. This salary is supposed to cover transport costs, groceries, school fees as well as any other basic necessities.
The Zimbabwean government has failed its citizens and the economy continues to cripple and get worse. As a result many zimbabweans have looked for greener pastures in neighbouring countries as well as countries overseas.

The government has also been criticized for approving these rates as it shows that workers will be clearly underpaid.
These suggested pays and minim wages have caused havoc on social media, accusing the government of promoting modern day slavery.
