On Tuesday this week , the ANC workers who were on strike reportedly met with the Treasure General of the party Mr Paul Mashatile in order to try and resolve the issue .A media briefing was held by the employees and informed that the leadership of the ANC received an update of unpaid salaries in 2021 .
Iy was stated that the plan had been to settle the issue of salaries that had stretched as fr as three months .It was also shared that the original plan was to put to an end the issue regarding cash flow into the ANC as well as creating certainty regarding future payments .
Even though some of the money has been paid to the workers , it was confirmed by the representative of the ANC workers that the promise of paying them in full had not been met .On the 25th of January , it will be three months since the ANC workers would not have been paid their salaries in full .
It was revealed that even though the leadership had promised to give full attention to the issue of non-payments , it was directly the opposite behind closed doors and it was claimed that the leadership was misleading the public regarding what was happening .
Furthermore , the ANC workers' representative claimed that there were no plans by the Treasure General of the party to resolve the issue of non-payments .The workers are calling on the National Executive to ensure that measures are put in place to resolve the labor issues . It is concerning how a party like ANC can be struggling to pay its workers .
The President held a fundraising dinner a couple of weeks back , what happened to the funds that were raised .How is the President of South Africa and the leader of ANC failing to sit down with the leadership find lasting solutions to the challenges being faced ? How can people be able to trust ANC if it is failing its own employees ?
