According to a report presented to the ANC's national executive committee this week, members are asked to help the party's treasurer-general, Paul Mashatile, in resolving the salary issue with ANC personnel.
The study also discloses that an organizational design process centered on the ANC's full-time office capacity is under underway.
"The general organogram has been finished after meetings with HQ units, provinces, and the staff representation committee, and we are finalizing the structure's costs."
"The financial issue in terms of salary has not yet been totally resolved, since we still have to pay salaries in November and December 2021." "The employee representatives have given notice that beginning January 17, 2022, [they will] begin with a stay-away to emphasize their hardship, unless the debts are paid," according to the newspaper.
The ANC admitted that the situation for most employees was severe, with loss of assets and savings as a result of late and non-payment of salary, particularly for those with children returning to school this month.
According to the report, Mashatile met with employee representatives to update them on the status of the problems mentioned.
"However, because there is no rapid payment of arrears paychecks, the employees decided to prolong their strike." "The strike has repercussions for programs such as the issuance of QR [quick response barcode] codes and verification reports for BBGMs [branch biannual general meetings], as well as other organizational programs," according to the article.
Among the suggestions in the study, NEC members were instructed that "organizational design concepts, after costing is done, be finalised by the NWC."
"Support TG [treasurer-general] meeting with employee representatives on pay, and authorities to stay obsessed with the problem," according to the report.
The strike is still in effect.
