One of the most pressing issues confronting our country's youth is the absence of job creation.

The government, led by the African National Congress (ANC), has explored a variety of approaches to find a method to produce and sustain jobs for citizens. People are not just unemployed, but those who have been working are also losing their jobs.

Despite the fact that President Cyril Ramaphosa claims the administration created over half a million jobs last year, the unemployment rate has risen.

Things appear to be worse rather than improving, and some people are losing faith in the system, believing that the government will one day be able to supply them with adequate jobs.

Field Report

According to SABC News, the government plans to introduce the Social Employment Fund to South African citizens as a new strategy to combat unemployment and ensure that the country's high unemployment rate is brought down to a reasonable level.

According to the president's statement, the first phase benefited more than half a million citizens, and the government hopes that with the second phase, they will be able to aid even more people who are unable to satisfy their basic necessities.

Observation

The initiative may be able to assist a few people, and it would be a fantastic thing for South African citizens, but the conflict between citizens, poverty, and unemployment is far from done.

For example, many young people with all of the necessary qualifications for employment are sitting at home, and this is only a fraction of the problem because things in our country are not improving.

It might have helped if the country hadn't been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, which resulted in a large number of people losing their employment. The government must now provide for individuals who have lost their employment as well as those who have never worked.

Do you believe establishing a Social Employment Fund would be beneficial to citizens?
