What you should be earning every month in order to live a decent life in South Africa

Things are getting tougher by the day and when you think you've seen, it all then visit the supermarket tomorrow.

Luxury foods are now out of reach for many ordinary South Africans and the high cost of living has really had a negative impact in many people's lifestyles.

But just how much does one need to be earning in order to have a decent life?

Reports state that South Africans earning around R7 911 a month have what is called a 'decent standard of living'.

The data comes from the Labour Research Service (LSR), Studies in Poverty and Inequality Institute (SPII) and the Southern African Social Policy Research Insights (SASPRI).

So if you are earning anything less than that then you are in trouble of not enjoying the basic luxuries that South Africa has to offer.

On average, South Africans earn less than R10 000 a month. Is your salary fulfilling?
