Manganye serves as a social crime prevention coordinator and communication officer, at the Mokwakwaila police station in Bolobedu South. "After I completed matric I applied at the police force and my application was successful. I was only 20 years old when I started as a detective. I stayed in that position for 8 long years serving with diligence and pride". He shared.
Sergeant Manganye indicated that working in the police force was a dream he always wanted to pursue from a young age. He explained it as giving back to the community that raised him.
However, like any other profession, his job also has challenges.
"Despite the challenges on and off duty I have remained focused and unshakable because I am a risk-taker and I had the passion and I withstood everything I faced along the journey. I want to see my area as a crime-free zone. Our communities sometimes make our job difficult because they love favours.
They forget we signed a code of conduct and we must adhere to it. We are law enforcers and we must act accordingly so that they can have confidence in us. When you don't give them favors they dislike you. Nevertheless, I keep serving with honesty and dedication " He continued.
Manganye said that he would like to reach out to the masses and advise them to respect the rule of law. Short cut in life deprives a person of knowing what it feels like to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
"My message to people, particularly the youth is that, give police information when they need it, tip them off about planned crimes, report gender-based violence, report criminals, and domestic violence. Have confidence in us and look out for your neighbours " He concluded.#Tzaneenvoice
