South Africa has the highest unemployment rate in South Africa.

The South African government has released the shocking unemployment stats.

With the country still fighting the deadly pandemic COVID-19, the unemployment rate continues to rise with the latest figures showing that almost half of South Africans are not working.

“South Africa has an unemployment rate of 46.6%. Add to that the economic devastation of Covid and state capture. Add divisions within the ruling party, with a violent fringe as seen in July. Add lack of trust in institutions.

Add police & intelligence collapse.

A fire is coming” - @justicemalala posted on Twitter.

The third quarter unemployment rate rose to 46.6%, the highest in the world.

“[BREAKING NEWS] South Africa's third-quarter unemployment rate rises to 34.9%. The expanded unemployment rate, which includes non-job-seekers rises to 46.6%.

This translates to 12.5-million jobless people. More details on #DStv403 and” - @eNCA tweeted.

The country will need a annual growth of 5% to reduce the shocking figures.

“A reminder that South Africa needs at least 5% annual economic growth, to reduce this shocking 47% unemployment rate we have.

That’s what experts have said. How do we get to 5% growth? Well, it’s no rocket science. Minimise government interventions in the economy!” - @PhumlaniMMajozi posted on Twitter.
