It was recently reported that a Gold Rush Group employee named Theresa Mulderij took legal action after she was fired for choosing not to get the Corona Virus (Covid-19) vaccine even though it was compulsory for the all of the company's employees to get vaccinated, but unfortunately earlier this morning (Tuesday January 25) it was reported that the CCMA has officially dismissed the application from Theresa Mulderij against the Gold Rush Group.
According to the CCMA, Theresa Mulderij's firing was 'fair' because she failed to follow the company's rules and regulations with regards to Corona Virus vaccines, and unfortunately this is bad news for other unvaccinated South African workers.
The reason this is bad news for other unvaccinated South Africans workers is because if an unvaccinated person is fired by their employer for being unvaccinated, it means that the CCMA will not be able to assist as they will see it as a fair dismissal.
