On the 27th of September the Department Of Education launched a program that aims to create employment opportunities specifically in the education sector. Vacancies for teacher assistants and general school assistants where made available. In total there are 287 000 posts in all nine provinces and over 2.7 million people have applied to date. The initial closing date was the 3rd of October but they have decided to extend it.
How to apply for the jobs
The government has put together a zero-rated mobi-site that will facilitate the application process. We have outlined the most important things below:
— First things first, you need to visit sayouth.mobi and create your own profile. Your person details such as your ID, location and cellphone number are amongst some of the required information.
— Now that you have create your profile, click on the search for opportunities button. Insert your location and then a list of openings will be shown.
— You don't have to poses a matric certificate for general posts but it will be advantageous if you have one. For example when applying you need to list all the subjects that you got a percentage of 40% and upwards.
— For people that have Information Communications Technology (ICT) skills or subjects it's also advantageous.
— The closing date for applications is the 10th of October (This coming Sunday)
