On June 28th, a retired individual from Rustenberg came forward to claim the R33 million PowerBall PLUS jackpot that had been won the previous day.

The fortunate winner placed a bet of R30 and matched all five winning numbers as well as the PowerBall. He went with the traditional approach of picking numbers by hand and found out that he had won after looking up the results of the drawing online.

09, 12, 28, 29, 50, and PB: 13 were the winning numbers for the PowerBall lottery.

The man, who is in his seventies, disclosed to Ithuba, the national lottery operator, that he has been participating in the lottery for the past nine years. The most money that he's ever won was R80.

This past Tuesday's winning ticket was valued a total of R33 107 623.80.

"I cannot express how ecstatic I am to have won the PowerBall PLUS jackpot; with the money, I plan to construct homes for my wife and our child. "Winning this money will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the course of my life," stated the winner.

The mining industry was the retiree's primary occupation for the most of his working life. According to Ithuba, his current hobby is lounging about and watching television in his spare time.
