How much would you pay for an M3?
This car may be a legend in South Africa but does it hold the same level of value to your wallet?
These questions and more have been easily answered by a buyer from the United States who purchased a 1988 E30 BMW M3 that was thought to have been in pristine condition for $250 000 which works out to be around R4 118 050 (at the time of writing) after more than 50 attempts at the car.
According to Bringatrailer.com, the M3 was driven occasionally before being acquired for the designated price as the original owners were moving from one state to another and thus selling it.
The E30 15-inch wheels run on factory wheels, spoiler and are accompanied by the full-service record and owners manual with the only modifications made to the car being a red wrap to protect the original paint underneath. The interior is finished in natural tan leather with m with a matching set of carpets and door panels, contrast by a black dash and centre console.
Power comes from a 2,3-litre four-cylinder engine that drives the rear axle via a Getrag G265 five-speed manual gearbox. It is an M3 after all. Unfortunately, the BMW M3 wasn't sold in South Africa however the models available were the 333i and the much-covered 325iS.
