SUV

Celebrities Prefer This Mercedes Benz Over The G63.

The Mercedes-Benz G55 was first designed as a military vehicle but has now become a prestige symbol among celebrities.

Since its 2002 introduction in the country, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV has become more well-liked among wealthy businessmen and celebrities who use the high-end vehicle as a status symbol.

Since it was first developed as a military vehicle, Mercedes-Benz has been selling the G-Class SUV, also known as the "G-Wagon," for more than 35 years. The G-Wagon has four-wheel drive on all variants. Mercedes made sure the vehicle was comfortable for both on and off-road driving.

In the world of four-wheel drive cars, the Mercedes G Class SUV is a legend. The Gelandewagen, or G-Wagen as it is more often known, is the SUV of choice for celebrities all around the world thanks to a design that hasn't changed all that much in more than 30 years.

The G55 is one of the more well-liked models. It belongs to the first generation, also referred to as W463. Production commenced in 1990 and stopped in 2018. Numerous factors contribute to celebrities' fondness of the G55. One of them is that practically all of the car's components were made by hand. Another is that it has a very rugged, manly appearance. It's regarded as one of the best off-road cars in the world, and famous actors like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Brad Pitt must own one.

The 5.5-liter V8 in the G55 generates 382 horsepower and 391 pound-feet of torque. The vehicle has an automated seven-speed transmission that distributes power to all four wheels. The 5,500-pound G55 reached 60 mph quickly—in 6.6 seconds—after accelerating from 0 mph. This performance metric surprised the reviewers since it begs the question of how something so massive could move so swiftly.

The only thing that could make the ride on the highway difficult are the ugly potholes. It steers slowly, yet this slow steering is advantageous on the dirt. The G55 can be driven through most obstacles that Mother Nature presents, yet the steering wheel hardly ever detects the impacts.

For off-road use, Mercedes included locking front, center, and rear differentials as well as a limited-slip rear differential. The differentials enable the G55 to approach trail blazing in a more traditional manner than a high-tech Land Rover would.

The interior of the G Class is distinguished by a high standard of fit and finish. The angular fundamentals look good dressed up with wood, leather, and metallic trim. Although the AMG engine and some air rushing over the high A-pillars whistle into the cabin, Mercedes muffled some of the road noise.

With all the headroom you could want, the G Class impresses on the inside. However, front-seat occupants would notice the width the most because of the center console's large height and width.
