South Africa is not ready for this beast: Mercedes AMG EQS 53

Although Telsa got a head start when it comes to an electric vehicle at a time when the whole auto industry thought it was a joke.

Who would buy a rechargeable car? What if it breaks down or runs out of battery in the middle of nowhere? What if there is no electricity? These are some of the questions that many competitors have for Telsa.

But in the last decade, we have seen most of these fears being calmed down as the opinion polls shift from fuel to electric vehicles. And as such the technology has greatly improved in the last decade.

Mercedes Benz has gone beast mode trying to catch up with Telsa with its latest ESQ class offering stiffer competition. For starters, it's expected to ranger 784 kilometers when fully charged on a 108.7 Kilowatt-hour battery pack.

Buyers can select the single-motor, rear-drive 450+ with 329 horsepower (245 kilowatts)and 406 pound-feet (550 newton-meters).

Mercedes-Benz will start with two models: the EQS 450+ and the EQS 580 4MATIC, which has a higher base price of $120,160.
