Minister of Transport Fikile Mbalula saddened by the loss of 11 people and two who were injured in a collision of a truck and minibus taxi at the N2 between Mount Frere and Mount Ayliff Eastern Cape.
The minister has sent his condolences to family members to some of the family members whi lost thier lives and wished a speedy recovery to those that sustained injuries.
The head-on crash between a truck and minibus taxi occured on Wednesday afternoon approximately 16:30 15 April 2020
The Road Traffic Management Corporate Crash Investigations Unit and South African Police Services (SAPS) will be working together in investigating what was the main cause of the collision.The officials will also ascertain wether there any lockdown regulations contravened during the collision
Citizens are urged to stay in their homes during the lockdown, those on the roads should adhere to the regulations of lockdown and all take safety measures.
