The African National Congress has been going through a lot which some were internal issues and others it's a karma. On the previous local government elections, the African National Congress didn't do well, it was for the first time since 1994 when the African National Congress got less than 50% votes.
The Tripartite Alliance is an alliance between the African National Congress (ANC), the Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) and the South African Communist Party (SACP). The ANC holds a majority in the South African parliament, while the SACP and COSATU have not contested any democratic election in South Africa.
It is always a wish of every African National Congress member, more especially on leadership to always find himself or herself in a good space with the alliance partners of the African National Congress whom are COSATU, SACP and COSAS. Unfortunately as for president Cyril Matamela Ramaphosa whom was once a general secretary of COSATU, he's starting to loose touch with the COSATU.
