Heavy rains disrupted the opening of schools for the first time in 2021 as students were supposed to go to school but ended up unable to attend ward 5 in Gedleza due to flooded roads and flooded rivers.  Local Superintendent Thulani Dlamini said teachers were disturbed as they were not able to travel. ward councilor Mr Bonginkosi Mahaye said he had contacted the authorities to calm them down.
