The Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) Tactical unit members have secured the successful arrest of one male suspect after he was found in possession of a vehicle which was hijacked in Sunnyside and an unlicensed firearm. According to the intelligence Bureau South Africa news report, on Thursday, 30 June 2022 the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) Tactical unit members followed up on information about a white Toyota quest which was reported to be hijacked in Sunnyside (Gauteng Province).

Officers from the Tactical section of the Tshwane Metropolitan Police Department (TMPD) were able to successfully apprehend a male suspect after it was discovered that he was in possession of a vehicle and an unlicensed pistol that had been stolen during a carjacking in Sunnyside. The incident had occurred earlier in the day.
