He was beaten after being wrongfully accused of theft. Mukundi Tshikosi was a 22 years old vibrant young man who was passionate about being a photographer.
Date : 23 September 2021 It is indeed a sad week to communities in Maniini outside Thohoyandou in Limpopo. The whole of Thohoyandou is mourning the death of young vibrant boy who passed away following injuries that he got from being brutally beaten. Mukundi Mphaphuli was a young vibrant and energetic boy born in Maniini outside Thohoyandou.
One of the reasons why death sentence was abolished is South Africa was because some people were wrongly killed only to find out that they are innocent after they were killed, that they were wrongfully arrested and sentenced, it is for the same reason that the law discourages mob justice and never allows people to take the law into their own hands.
Mukundi was a photographer at Thavhani mall, who used to take people pictures outside the mall. He was however one of the friendliest guy you could possibly bump into at the pub, groove, club or tavern because he used to attend those kind of gigs a lot.

A young man from Thohoyandou by the name Mukundi Mphaphuli was brutally assaulted by a group of community members at village square after being accused of stealing car keys. According to the flyingnewslive news report, an accuser accused Mukundi Mphaphuli and his friend of stealing his car keys and a wallet, although the two young men denied that they stole anything and nothing was found in their possession, the accuser insisted that the two young men stole from him.
Mukundi was falsely accused of stealing car keys and a wallet, and the accuser drove him and his buddy to the hamlet, where they were exposed to mob justice. Mukundi was beaten and died in the hospital as a result of his injuries. The individual who had taken the keys later returned them.
