Here is a look at what the DBE had to say about the reopening of schools next week That moment of reopening of schools is around the corner . The schools will be reopening from the 12th of January for those located in the inland areas . Those that are located on coastal areas are expected to be reopened on the 19th of January 2022 .The Department of Basic Education is reported to have revealed that it was ready to accept the learners back from next week .There is an expectation for the 2022 academic year to be better , in comparison to the 2021 academic session .

The matric exams, which were due to start on November 1, date changes due to elections . This was revealed by the Department of Basic Education spokesperson Elijah Mhlanga, who said after yesterday's meeting of ministers it was decided that the exams would start sooner. Mhlanga said the first English paper, scheduled for November 1, would be written on October 27. Business Studies was scheduled for November 2, and one of the languages, including German, was scheduled for October 28.
