Thirty-one thousand in one province yet we are told that foreigners are qualified and South Africans are not. And i read somewhere at times live, it says "If Department of Home Affairs doesn't renew the Zimbabwe Special permit that it will results in Shortages of teachers."

KZN Education MEC has sent an urgent safety alert. This comes after devastating floods have hit KwaZulu-Natal after the wet weather this weekend. The MEC of eduction in KwaZulu-Natal, Kwazi Mshengu, has warned schools in affected areas due to the floods not to open tomorrow. Parents have been advised not to send their kids out tomorrow.

The Education MEC in Kwa-Zulu Natal visited some schools in his province on opening day .A visit was made in Pietermaritzburg by the MEC where he had the company of the Deputy Minister of Basic Education Dr Reginah Mhaule . It was reported that there were 199 schools that were affected by the storms and floods that hit the province .There are 90 schools that were reported to have been in need of The MEC promised that they would be provided by the end of the week .
