The MEC of education in KwaZulu-Natal province, Mr Kwazi Mshengu has released an agent communication to schools, advising them to be closed down with immediate effect. The last time schools got close with immediate effect was when covid-19 was on the pik level and decision was taken to save lives of leaners, educators and other supporting staff.
KZN Education MEC Kwazi Mshengu says the province has 31 000 qualified teachers who are unemployed. Thirty-one thousand in one province yet we are told that foreigners are qualified and South Africans are not. And i read somewhere at times live, it says "If Department of Home Affairs doesn't renew the Zimbabwe Special permit that it will results in Shortages of teachers."
Due to the floods that occurred, the people of KwaZulu-Natal who live in town CBD had to be evaluated by the rescue teams and taken to Ladysmith indoors sports centre.However 70 residents were evacuated from the flooded areas in Ladysmith. In the town of Msinga, heavy rains caused the uThukela River to burst and flood surrounding areas.
