Helichrysum Petiolare Kooigoed (Eng), Kruie (Afr), Impepho (Sotho,Xhosa and Zulu.) As the name suggests, this plant has a very strong smell. It is used for many things such as for insects repellents and fragrance. It grows near rivers and sams in many countries.
Photo: Google Imphepho is the Zulu name for the Helichrysum species – going by many common names including Everlasting, Sewejaartjies, Kooigoed, African Sage and Licorice Plant. It’s worth pointing out here that the local name ‘imphepho’ refers broadly to the Helichrysum species.
