Hi-tec Security said in a Facebook post that it had received a panic signal from a business in Bathurst Street at about 8.30am. “Our ... control room received a panic signal and immediately dispatched armed response.” Hi-tec said that when the staff arrived for work and opened the business at their client’s premises, two robbers had entered and threatened them with a firearm.

FRAUDSTER NABBED WITH FAKE R200 On Monday afternoon, just before 15:00, a suspect in a cowboy hat entered the business of one of our clients in High Street and attempted to use a counterfeit R200 bank note when paying for his purchase. The suspect cunningly and deliberately chose something inexpensive to buy in an attempt to get the bulk of the money back in change, indicating that he was aware of the note being fake and therefore complicit in the scam.
