Gauteng Education MEC assured parents that all learners will be placed in schools by month end -All schools in inland provinces such as Gauteng , Limpopo , Mpumalanga , North West and Free State reopened their doors for the first time this year . It was sad that some learners could not go to schools like others as they were not yet placed .However , the good news that was shared by the Gauteng Education MEC was that all the learners would be placed by the end of the month of January 2021 .In accordance with what the MEC said , there were close to 700 learners who were not placed as of Wednesday .Mr Steve Mabona , who is the spokesperson for the Gauteng Department of Education was asked to explain why there was a problem of placements on a yearly basis .In his response , he openly admitted that the province had capacity challenges .
