The application for reinstatement by a former Gauteng teacher who was fired for hitting two pupils with a pipe , using derogatory terms in referring to them, and swearing at one of his female workmates was dismissed by the Education Labour Relations Council. The Council had dismissed the application of Fanyana Mabasa in 2018 after his dismissal in 2017 .However , the department of education was ordered to pay the former teacher his month´s salary of R22 136 .50 after it was ruled that the procedure regarding his dismissal was unfair .
